LET ME TELL YOU A STORY:

Once upon a time, a thousand years ago last Thursday, I bloody hate making micro buttons (88 x 31 pixel images, usually used for linking a site). Don't get me wrong, I like them! I like using them to link to other folks and I like having ones that people can use, but making them is a bitch. They're just SO tiny (well, I mean...micro, amirite?), they're honestly a relic of a time when monitors were much smaller than they are these days (they probably should be replaced by 120x60s entirely, logically), and I can never get mine to just look RIGHT, damn it. However, due to the limping continuation of the creative/personal web, they're still in demand, so, y'know. I make them. I swear while I'm doing it! But I make the teeny, tiny little bastards. I made this one for my own personal use a few years ago, to match a vapourwave layout I had at the time:

oh man holy shit

(The whole "STILL yours" thing was a variation of the standard Neocities button, because I have Feelings about people claiming that they're reviving the creative web, because uhm, it never died, but that's a whole other rant...)

And then it started popping up on other people's webpages without credit, and I was like...okay, rude? Why...why are people being so rude?

Because an 88x31 button "collector" stole it, posted it on their collection without credit, and claimed it was public domain. It distinctly wasn't. Then said collective got passed around Tumblr like a soggy joint. So. Yeah. That'll do it.

I don't want to ask anyone to stop using said button, especially since most people are using it in good faith under the assumption that they have every right to do it, and I feel badly that they've been duped.

So, y'know...fwck it.

It's not public domain, but I now declare it linkware -- if you want to use it, please provide credit back to this site or any other of my websites -- and hell, here's a rainbow of colours, just for shits and giggles. Collect them all!

Or go monochrome. Beauty in simplicity, right? Or boredom. Who knows!

Here's some for you pastel uwu little shits too:

I'll probably have an anxiety attack sometime in the future and make even more, hooray! Save to your own server for your own convenience, as well, because lord knows I am the queen of disorganisation, and apt to change my URL at the drop of a hat. And remember: linkware! Not public domain! Love ya. The web's still yours. ♥
